Open letter to my two corporate-whore Senators

Sounds to me like he's just paying attention to current events and basic American history.

Corporate tax rates are the lowest they've been since pre-FDR and tea partiers say taxes are too high. Big companies are sitting on piles of money; they can't argue that they can't afford to hire people.... although, I can understand why they aren't hiring, too. They have no incentive because they have no customers.

If you want real job growth, sure, some amount of relief from regulation and/or tax relief can be in order from time to time, especially with small businesses, but that shouldn't be the priority right now. You see, while the right is all up in arms over supply side economics, they forgot the other half of that economic ideal: demand. Businesses generally stay in business because they have customers, which can only be created if the public has money to spend and faith in the economy. Demand is NOT created if people have to spend all their money, barely keeping their heads above water and it's not created by the public being so worried about the possibility of having their job outsourced that they're afraid to spend a dime.

As you and other Republicans in the Senate and House negotiate with President Obama over the "fiscal cliff", I as one Kentucky voter would like to let you know my wishes. Given the recent election results and polling done on this subject, I don't think I'm alone.

First, tax cuts for the wealthy need to expire. Please do not lecture me on "job creators". I AM one of those job creators as I am the owner of a small business. I also have a functioning memory and the last 30 years have proven that tax cuts for the wealthy do not stimulate the economy nor do they spur job creation. As long as the rich get to keep their tax cuts, the American people do not owe one dime in austerity cuts.

Second, the defense budget needs to be substantially cut from its current level. President George H. W. Bush promised us a "peace dividend" when the Cold War ended. Over 20 years later, it's way past time that promise was fulfilled. As long as the Pentagon gets to keep its bloated Cold War budget, the American people do not owe one dime in austerity cuts.

Subsides for oil companies and other examples corporate welfare need to end. The oil companies are some of the most profitable companies in America so they will do fine without it. As long as corporate welfare continues, the American people do not owe one dime in austerity cuts.

Medicare and Social Security must be taken off the table. Period.

The American people spoke loud and clear in the recent election. It's only through gerrymandering that your party held on to the House. If you continue to ignore the wishes of the voters, I predict that Republicans will suffer more defeats at the ballot box in 2014 and 2016.

Sincerely...

[Note to this forum:

I have no illusion they will care and I'll probably get a form letter response as I always do but hey, it's one more voice from the masses. They may listen to us if they hear it enough.

And I resisted the temptation to call them corporate whores. It would be insulting to prostitutes everywhere. At least they only sell their own bodies.]
Why should they listen to you...You sound like a angry little propagandized leftist peon who's only repeating what he heard on MSLSD news and the class warfare rhetoric he heard from the democrat campaign.

And you sound like a fucking fascist.

Quote:Rand Paul hired Chris Hightower as a campaign spokesman. When some blogs found that Hightower had “Happy N*&*a Day” with a picture of an African American being lynched posted on his myspace wall and had a blog about Black people looking at him funny because of his KKK hoodie, he resigned while Paul defended him.

That link doesn't seem to have anything to do with corporations, but ok...

Quote:5. He Celebrates At Elitist Formerly All-White Golf Clubs
Formerly. Are we to refuse to spend our time at places that used to discriminate against non-white people? That would probably affect all our lives for the worse.

Quote:4. He Hires Neo-Nazis
One of the core tenets of Libertarianism is not to judge people on their beliefs. Obama hires women...does that make him one?

Quote:Rand Paul caused a great deal of controversy when he told Rachel Maddow that he believed businesses had the right to discriminate on the basis of skin color.
I believe they do as well. I wouldn't ever use such a business, but people can be discriminatory, and businesses should too. I doubt such businesses would last very long in modern society...the vast majority of people are not racists.

Quote:2. He Take Tons Of Money From White Supremacists And Won’t Give It Back
Because one of the core tenets of Libertarianism is not to judge people on their beliefs. Besides, if racist groups want to support a candidate, they have every right to. It doesn't mean the candidate is a racist. I'm sure if you looked at all the donations to Obama's campaign, you will see some very shady and questionable people.

Hanging out with people doesn't mean you agree with everything they say.

Perhaps this, then....since you seem determined to defend anything the shithead says.

Quote:Speaking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Paul announced his intention to do anything it takes to shield the privileged rich and corporate America. Asked if he would end the $830 billion, unpaid-for Bush tax cuts to the rich and return tax rates for the wealthiest bracket to Clinton-era levels, Paul snapped and said such a move would cause a “second great depression” and declared that “anybody who proposes such a policy really is, I think, unfit to be making decisions.”

Paul then clarified his delusional worldview by telling Blitzer that “there are no rich” and “there are no poor.” In Paul’s mind, even taxing yachts would somehow punish the working poor in Kentucky. “We all either work for rich people or we sell stuff to rich people,” concluded Rand:

You need to spend some time in Kentucky, apparently.

And you need to spend some time in a socialist country, like Hugo's Venezuela, apparently.

Y'know, compared to the US, countries like Finland and Sweeden are extremely socialist and they pretty consistantly kick our American asses as for having a happier population.

Then maybe you should pack your bags and move to the Eden of Sweden where you'll be happier.
