The Great Andromeda Galaxy And Friends

I promised someone I'd post this when I was able to take the image, so here it is.

I've been a long time trying to get this one. It is one of the most challenging objects I've done. I'm still not completely satisfied with it, but it is the best I've done to date.

Andromeda's friends in the image are:

To the top left, Messier 110, is a a dwarf elliptical galaxy, and another satellite galaxy of Andromeda.

To the bottom right, Messier 32, is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy that is a satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy

The Andromeda galaxy is about 2.5 million light years away, and is so large that I can't get it all in my image due to the size of the chip in my camera and the foca,l length of my scope. A full sized chip might get mosty of it. Unfortunately, I don't have one of those.

I must say that is a particularly good shot it has such depth and there is a really fine composition to it. That is such a good picture.

Breathtakingly, achingly beautiful. The dust lanes are so sharply defined, it's almost as though you could step into the picture and explore it. Very inspiring.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
