BBC: Microsoft in web photo racism row

RE: BBC: Microsoft in web photo racism row
Jeez people; racism is about discrimination, not removing black people from pictures to have the picture fit more with the demographics. They didn't plaster the words "DIE NIGGER!" across the thing; they replaced a black guy's head with a more demographically suitable head.

Unless bozo can explain how black people are being discriminated, he doesn't have a point at all.

This all just bolsters my theory that the "racism" movement has nothing to do with equality, and everything to do with "black protectionism".

Adrain, you certainly do have a good point there. I think most of the time we are too quick to jump to conclusions of things...but acts like this, I feel, are not encouraging racial harmony either...it's not discriminating, true, but to do a cover up job in that respect, and so terribly, still reflects really badly. Quote:Or, what I find more likely, is that the marketing dept ordered the change because there aren't that many black men in Poland and a white guy in the picture would help the Polish people to identify easier. They never anticipated the backlash probably

Yup, almost certainly a commercial decision based on sound demographic research..

To accuse a large corporation of racism is as silly as accusing it of having any moral or ethical sense at all.Devil

Very true, indeed...but again, it still has the ability to tarnish a corporation's reputation because so many people think in a certain way even if it isn't 100% sound so it still has an unfortunate negative effect.

Adrian, a black face was replaced with a white face. Why? We do not know.
I suspect what I suspect. You can suspect what you want.
I don't have to prove jack shite to you.

Racism is more than " discrimination ". Chambers defines it thus:-

hatred, rivalry or bad feeling between races; belief in the inherent superiority of some races over others, usually with the implication of a right to be dominant; discriminatory treatment based on such belief

I thought it was pretty crappy - the light on the white guy's face and neck is coming from the opposite direction of the original. Looks completely wrong Tongue

Evidently the theists are not the only ones who need lessons on "burden of proof". Bozo, you do make me laugh sometimes. Now either present your evidence (other than just your guesswork) or stop trying to jump on the racism train.

Laugh away....this one isn't about evidence, it's about speculation. I have made my case. Go to the other thread and we can continue the racism issue.
