I guess then the next step would be to, instead of doing for them what they want/need, you try to get them to do what you want/need.

Meh, it's easy. I've got boobs Cool Shades
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I trust you but we're not running a faith based operation here. We need evidence, photos perhaps.

Angel

Are you implying that you follow a different ethical theory or just don't follow ethical theories in general?

What's with the angel face we know that not a trait you possess lol.

Whether this is universal, common, or relatively unique I have no idea. I only know that I am 'cursed' with seeing and feeling things from someone else's perspective. Combine that with a genuine desire not to cause deliberate harm and the result is the artist formerly - and currently - known as Stimbo. Clearly I'm going to regard it as the better choice, since it works for me as much as it does everyone with whom I interact.

Note that I used the word 'beings' and not 'people'; that was a deliberate choice, since my empathy tends to extend to non-human animals as well. Though if you're a spider, you'd be far better off nowhere near me.

Haha that reminds me of that commercial where the guy goes to kill a spider and the spider grabs him by the finger and starts throwing him around. Haha but yeah that's good man i believe that falls under teleological. We all use both of them and break both of them just depends on which one would be the best to use on the situation.

What of consequentialism? No virtue ethics?

Personally, I endeavor not to be a cunt. It's worked so far.

That falls under teleological as far as i understand so far. Deontological is duty based ethics and teleological is ends based.

I like a joke, I like to swear, I like to smoke weed, I like freedom of communication, I like to party, I like music, I like the golden rule, I like open relationships, and I like free men of the land.

But society doesn't and I have to adapt to that to get by.

Uh i'm not sure that means you have no ethics and society does like and do all those things.

Sometimes I enjoy the suffering of those that do.

Utilitarianism which falls under teleological.

More a combination, I do believe that out of utilitarism and it`s results principles can be found. Yet I do believe that utilitarism shouldnt infringe individual rights.

I guess a modern citizen of the world cannot suscribe to one of these philosophical schools alone.

I couldn't agree with you more man. I guess it just depends on the reason and situations really.

So if someone has bad hair and ask your opinion on the matter, you would feel that telling them the truth is more important than a lie than comforts them? Just trying to understand what you mean.

The golden rule, treat others as you'd like to be treated. also, religions won't be able to take credit for this rule, since the golden rule has existed separately in so many different cultures, and even before organized religion.

Neither. There is a third position called virtue ethics.
