I'm not asking you to prove God doesn't exist, of course not. I'm the opposition, if either of us should do that it's me, and I'm not even going to attempt to do that because it's a logical fallacy! You can't prove a negative.

No, I'm not asking that.

I'm saying how can God's existence not be important if if you've got the existence question wrong, and he doesn't exist, then any other good that comes from the belief can be nothing more than a placebo?

That's a contradiction. "God is"=God exists. Otherwise what are you talking about when you say "God is"?
