What?
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Good looks like a spiritual force that you can see in rooms you feel Gods presence it is like feeling the presence of some cool force around you.

God is like a wonderful wisp than you see and you want to breathe him in and then you feel good because you just want to hold onto him, like you are in a giant sky filled with a spirit bed and you climb up on God and you change into a little baby. And God holds onto you and says "this is my little spirit friend", and God holds onto you and cherishes you, like a wisp, God holds onto people but God is also like a person, because you can crawl on God.

I would say, a duel wisp and chest nature. But whenever you see God, you only see God when you become a little baby and God always wants to hold onto you because everyone likes little babies.

I have not seen God, but I do know first hand what a genuine spiritual experience is. Usually, its best not to trot it out in front of people you know will mock you. And yet, you shouldn't keep your light under a basket, right? Maybe if more people were open about their mystical experiences it would...I don't know...I just don't know...

Pearls before swine? Smile

When I was a believer, I can recall people relating experiences (usually second or third hand) where someone was touched by the supernatural in some way. Others who were of the same faith would become awestruck by the stories and eagerly pass them along.

If, however, they heard of similar tales from people not of their faith, they would mock them. Either they'd presume that the person in question was mad, or hallucinating, or that they were in thrall to demonic forces. It never seemed to bother them just how insulting the latter inference was. And others would return the favor, of course. Because the spiritual is real... so long as it happens under circumstances that support your worldview.

I suppose an atheist will simply assume that a person who purports to experience something mystical was not entirely in his or her right mind at the time. But hey, at least we don't accuse you of being in league with the Devil. That's got to count for something, right?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Well, you heard it here first. God is a very small, unidentified flying object.

(I was hoping to hear, "Like my neighbor's rhododendron that somebody had poured gas on and lit aflame.")

The good news is I've taken you off ignore. The bad news is I mostly wanted to ask you if you've been diagnosed with mania or bi-polar. You seem like a classic case to me. It isn't all bad but you can easily become insufferable to others.

As for your spiritual experience .. why not just crawl back inside the womb? Why do so many desire to become a baby and abandon themselves to god's care? One would hope such an experience would at least be uplifting but yours seems to have infantilized you instead.

I don't mean to disrespect what you hold holy but I really think you can do better. Are you sure all god wanted was to cradle you? Maybe that's what you wanted. Next time ask him what he wants for you. You may be surprised.

I wouldn't call that 'seeing' personally. Thanks very much for your answer.

All God wants do to is love people.

I don't accept the reduction of my experience to psychological factors, I'm not sure I can prove that to you, you will just have to seek for yourself. God is real.

It is called the Shekina glory. You can see it, but you feel other things. It involves you at more than one level in it. I have felt ecstasy and intense joy and nearness to God. It is real.

Oh I didn't mean to suggest your experience was the result of any psychological factors. The only sign of mania I see is in the manner of your writing here. Mania isn't all bad and coupled with an able intellect (and you're no slouch) can take you interesting places.

No, I accept that you experienced exactly what you say you did (minus the literal inference of the Christian god). All I meant to say is that whatever it was you were interacting with may have been responding to you and your desires. If you could have conversed with it and inquired what it wanted for you, it might not have said "just to hold you like an infant". That impression may have been coming from you.
