Am I experiencing hypersexuality/masturbation addiction?

If he feels horny when watching kids, what other advice would you think should someone give him other than:

"Please go and get help."

Should he waste his time on a internet forums science thread with non professionals giving assertions and other stuff they read on wikipedia?
NO!
Go and get professional help is the only reasonable thing to write.

Having a forum for open discussion about scientific issues does not mean people should waltz in and ask others to diagnose their health problems as if they were doctors. Medical questions should be posed to medical professionals, not a group of people that gather under the banner of not believing in god.

Right but there could be a medical professional within this group of people - or someone with a similar experience within this group of people.

How is he supposed to go to a medical professional with this issue if they believe in superstition regarding sexuality?

Telling someone to get help if they are looking for help doesn't help.

If people hold no experience on the subject then why reply at all?

Are there any medical professionals on the subject of sexuality registered on this forum?

So, I don't think we can revere whatever Jefferson might have said in every case. But Jefferson was kind to his slaves and even slept with some of the women! Please.

He got mocked, not judged.

He should have been told to go to a licensed doctor. Going on an atheist forum looking for a doctor is like going over to the local swimming holler and dropping a line in hoping you might catch the possible catfish at the bottom. Don't defend him coming here. I think he likes the shock value.

Why not just go to the mall and ask everyone that walks by? After all, one of them might be a doctor.

How's he supposed to find out if a medical professional believes in superstition when he's asking a bunch of atheists instead?

It does if you're pointing them to the proper place to get help.

To point him in the right direction.

I agree, but I haven't seen anyone helping him to a more specific place with more information. I was commenting on the ridiculing posts.

You don't know what his socio-economic circumstances are. You can't point him to wherever you would go to get help unless you live in a similar place to him and have experienced a similar thing to him.

I have experienced hyper-sexuality before, although not with paedophilia, but I would not be able to approach my religious family doctor about it or anyone I know about it regardless. I don't think there is a "professional" place in my society to go about it without being arrested or sectioned.

The only place I have experienced that claims to offer a "cure" for it is the church. I came here because I thought there were answers beyond the church, more specifically with science in mind. If they are not available online in a forum allowing relatively freethinking and anonymous communication then they are going to be even harder to find offline.

A medically based website then? The only thing we're qualified here to give opinions on is our lack of belief in god.

Yep, I found my way back after one of my periodic recluse periods. :p
