Stuff Creationist Say
Throughout mankind’s existence we have been trying to figure how things around us work. And over a period of time human civilization has come to the better understanding and definitive answers for a lot of life questions through research. 500 years ago people believed that the world was flat and not sphere-shaped. Also there was the belief that the Earth is the center of the universe. In today’s age these might seem funny to us since we all know these are not true. And there is belief today that the world is less than 10000 years of age. Around 40% to 50% of the United States of America believes this is true. The percentage of people who believe this decrease with the education one has obtained in their life. Even though we can prove that the world is not 10,000 years old but between 4.5 billion to 4.7 billion years old this is still an issue. In the scientific community, evolution is not disputed and the level of support for evolution is universal. Most people who are creationist are not scientist so that’s like a McDonald’s crew member telling the world that what I say is science and is fact without no background or knowledge of science. We can prove through radiometric dating that the world is not 10,000 years old. Also through this process we can prove evolution is true as well.

The main debate over creationism and evolution is that religious groups in our country want to have the creationism theory taught in public school science classes. Now to me that is absurd and this should be shocking to most people. Creationism vs. evolution is more like religion vs. science and not a scientific debate what so ever. Now at private schools were they can teach children whatever they want this is already taking place. To me this handicaps a child’s mind because if they want to go to college their knowledge of science is going to be not acceptable. But in public schools were education is based on reality and not myths or one beliefs this is a big issue. There have been numerous lobbyists in our country who want politicians to be in favor of implementing these Stone Age beliefs into American classrooms. Also the creationist would have to believe that we were here with dinosaurs. So maybe they didn’t understand the Flintstones are not a real. And this kind of nonsense is what half our country believes in. This is a very scary statistic this means the half of our population believes in Stone Age science and not modern day science.
