The Illuminati

I vehemently disagree. It is abundantly clear that the commercial conspiracy theorists (particularly David Icke) and the global mass media have been outstanding at disinforming and shaping the perceptions of people like you. Anything remotely linked to the word "Illuminati" is instantly ridiculed without the skeptics actually engaging in the thorough critical evaluation of the available evidence. The Illuminati IS real and I can assure you that they practice esoteric, occultic and Luciferian black magic; they are also deeply involved in parapsychology (telepathy, psychokinesis, astral projection and remote viewing, for example) and mind control. According to some estimates, approximately 3% of the United States population is a member of this bizarre clandestine cult.

Ok, cool. You're free to believe whatever you want, and I'm free to laugh, and laugh hard. I mean, why wouldn't I want to take the word of an anonymous internet goon prima facie when he tells me the Illuminati are real?

There are so many logical inconsistencies and contradictions with the idea of a nefarious, clandestine bureaucracy running things behind the scene who also happen to be doing presupposed evil rituals that I wouldn't even know where to being in dissecting it as utter tripe. But I suppose the real crux is that I don't care enough to care, and nobody else does either. "Oh to our doom!" no doubt...yeah, ha, no doubt. Wink

You are remarkably obstinate, which I find to be rather annoying. Have you opened the zip file, viewed the PDF documents, and viewed the Wikipedia link I sent to you? Or, are you simply dismissing it without viewing the materials?

Perhaps you could run those "logical inconsistencies and contradictions" past me, so that we can have an engaging philosophical discussion about it. It seems as though you are using inductive reasoning to come to your conclusions. Also, using the word "nefarious" is overstating the matter somewhat. Although many of the members do engage in profoundly evil behaviours, such as mind control, paedophilia and ritual sacrifice, it appears that they practice good deeds also. It seems as though they believe that there should be a balance between good and evil, and that this is the true path to "illumination".

Naive apathy is, indeed, the predominant trend of the 21st century. Thankfully, not ALL people are as passive and dismissive as you.

I'm doing whatever turns you on.

I think it's better they stay apart of my own nefarious, clandestine secret organization that you can't be apart above unless you prove it exists. And it is entirely evil, seeking to infect the world with adorable kittens.

Nobody likes adorable kittens on that scale, I can assure you.

Well, actually, I'm a PhD student, so I do do a lot of research (in fact, if you want to know, my research is on the utilisation of government resources under NL by religious NGO's in the Birmingham Area through the New Deal, Single Regeneration budget and other ABI [Area Based Initiatives] in the delivery of urban regeneration projects. The aim to deliver a useable and flexible framework for the critique and evaluation of partnerships between FBOs and Government bodies on local based regeneration enterprises into the future during and after the current coalition government), so I also know a little bit about what's worth researching and what isn't.

I'm just dismissive of tripe. And what you're feeding me isn't even seasoned that well.

PS. The Illuminati exists, but only in your mind! *wooooooo* [spooky ghost noises]

Good for you. I am also a PhD student studying Computer Science, so I am also a very keen researcher.

Again, I am pleased that you are doing something useful with your life. Good for you. Wink It sounds like an interdisciplinary PhD with elements of politics, business and economics. ETA: I have just looked at your profile and you're studying "political science", so I was close. Smile

I would like to politely suggest that you are being dismissive because you have come to some hasty conclusions (based on inductive reasoning).

Like I said, you can believe whatever you want.

And i'm being dismissive because it's nonsense. There are some things worth devoting your time to (Computer science, political philosophy, microbiology...), and others that aren't. I'm putting the whole clandestine power thing firmly in the latter, and have neither the time nor the inclination to spend what precious little time I have fulfilling the delusions of others.

Have fun with your PhD.

I respect your opinion on the matter, but I think you have come to a simplistic conclusion. This is backed up by the fact that you have admitted that you're ignorant on the subject (that you have not spent any of your time researching it). Simply saying "it's nonsense" just comes across as a hasty conclusion based on inductive reasoning.

I don't think they're particularly organized about it, but okay.......

Is there something to discuss, beyond the ridiculous shit.....?

Holy fucking hell.......tell me you're pulling our legs? Something needs to be done about these people, but what can we do...they have "black magic" and mind control! Maybe we could all just scatter some salt on the ground to ward them off...but I bet those fuckers already own the salt companies - damned if you do, damned if you don't.

How many rolls of tinfoil does your household go through in the average week?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Rhythm, I don't particularly appreciate your trolly attitude here. Did you mention that you suffer from narcissistic personality disorder? I certainly detect an annoying air of condescension here. I am quite happy to have a civilised discussion with you (of which you appear to be incapable right now), but if you continue to be an arrogant and condescending prick, I will just ignore you.

RE: The Illuminati
You've detected it very accurately, but it probably has less to do with npd than your mentioning black magic and mind control (what do you think condescension has to do with npd anyway, ffs....Facepalm ). We can have a civilized discussion, sure, but I suppose I'd have to mention that in my conception of a civilized discussion, one person doesn't try to fob off bullshit on the other. Come on now Love....you do realize that you've put yourself in a position where you'll have to demonstrate the existence of "esoteric, occultic and Luciferian black magic", "telepathy, psychokinesis, astral projection and remote viewing" and "mind control" -before- you establish that there is any such thing as the illuminati - and -then- that they are engaged in all of this........and all of this has to happen before you get to wax on about their nefarious and clandestine activities........right?
