I don't see religion as an enemy. I think it's quite possible for the religious and non-religious to live in harmony. The problem is, both sides usually have dickheads that ruin the potential harmony.

I have nothing against belief in God. Just realize that there's no reason for me to believe the same b.s. you do.

After that point, everything is fine and dandy.

I find the OP highly amusing. On another thread I was surrounded by atheists screaming that atheism was only the lack of belief in deity and nothing more.. If those same folks show up and do not to condemn your OP it will reveal them to be total hypocrites.

Maybe some people agree with the OP. Maybe they don't. The real point of distinction is than no one is obliged to agree with the OP. Gooders1002 may see religion as an enemy, but this is in no way a requirement of atheism. While I personally dislike religion, I'm not sure if I would label it as an enemy. I might agree with the OP up until it says "But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy." That is, I realize that I am opposed to religion, but theists are just normal people like atheists, and should be treated as such.

I would be fine if the religious and the non could just get along. Some religion is benign, some is not. I would not consider most theists to be my enemy, it is only once you start treading on Westboro Baptist or "death to apostates" territory (i.e. vocal/violent extremists) that I would use such a term.

Wow why isn't this mantra stickied the hell out of existence?

Every day since I've been here there's the faithful atheist arguing for this particular dogma (hilariously not agreed upon by all atheists).

in fact... I'ma gonna start a new thread now. just for the lulz.

Why on earth would you assume that? It's not a question of logic, but of culture. Consider: audience. Think on it.

Yes, you do tend to shit out random one-liners that don't mean shit Smile

For the record the 'until we do" part is a bit dickish I do not see theists as the Enemy I see there dogma as the enemy and I treat indervidual people, intervidualy. Its only when they get to together in a group calling for people heads then they are the enemy, but inderviualy I will treat them like everybody else 'if your nice to, me I will be nice back'.
