I apologize if this derails the thread, but this reminded me of the time my brother flew me out to help him move cross-country (US). For the story's sake, it's important to know that my brother is Mormon.

My brother's 'church help' showed up after we had already negotiated three flights of stairs with a majority of the heavy furniture. I didn't complain about the break when ten adults showed up giving side-hugs. They helped for about ten minutes and then I descended the three flights with two hundred pounds of wheat in containers that resembled paint cans (apocalyptic food storage). I turned around and noticed that nobody was waiting for me to get out of his/her way. When I got back to my brother's apartment I discovered eleven adults on their knees holding hands.

With all the charm I could muster, I asked "who fucking died?". I was told that someone sneezed and on cue this person sneezed again. I then told them to start praying for me to remove my foot from someon's ass. I was asked why and I told the circle jerks that prayer must be on time delay since the sneezes keep coming and that there is a good chance that my foot will be in somebody's ass if people don't get the fuck out of my way.

All but two of these cunts immediately left. The two that stayed apologized and were a great help packing the rest of my brother's shit.

Sorry, this is what I think of evertime somebody talks about blessings.

Huh... he really does work in strange and mysterious ways, eh?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I thought you were going to say they were praying for the boxes to move themselves.

It seems that every forum has a circle-jerk button, eh?

Most don't and I think it is one of AF.org's best features. It cuts way down on the number of posts that simply say "I agree" in one way or another.

I'm sitting here going, "Tragame, tierra."

Translates: "Swallow me, earth."

Means: How embarrassing.

I am so ashamed of ever being a Christian. Thank god all mighty I'm free at last! Oh wait... scratch that.
