How one should react to natural disasters.
In the wake of the worst floods Germany has seen in a very very long time, efforts to keep the damage low and to rebuild have been fast and efficiant.

Today Merkel announced that 100 million euos in direct help would go to the hard hit state of Bavaria from the federal goverment.

And here`s the thing I have noticed and which I wanted to post about:

Not a single call by a public official to pray was given!

All efforts undertaken were actualy usefull!

Makes me proud Big Grin

One thing the German people and the Scandinavian people have in common...efficiency.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Germany should take care of itself if they can afford to, I don't see why European taxpayers should step in: http://www.dw.de/eu-pledges-aid-for-floo...a-16854776 I didn't see any German money flowing into Britain when we had floods, it seems money is only going one way in the EU from here: out of Britain.

Much better than the Oklahoma senator who said that aid to the tornado victims will be contingent upon finding cuts elsewhere.

You're right to feel proud. What a great way to actually deal with a situation: Take action and not just ask the invisible man to do all the work.
