Ok, thanks. Yeah. They are fucked. Then again, they've got cancer so they are behind the 8-ball to begin with.

Add in the reality that constantly being in hospitals is not terribly healthy to begin with what with the resistant strains of bacteria that have evolved because hospitals sanitize every square inch of the place and they are pretty much damned one way or the other.

She's an asshole. A very extreme branch of conservatism.

Hmm I guess anti-vax is bipartisan except that their reasons differ. I am also very against the autism scare that people perpetuate with vaccines. They were like IT'S THE MURCURY IN THIOMERSAL, so a study was done showing that murcury from vaccines does not cause autism, their response: ITS THE MURCURY

i've never once heard of antivax liberals, usually it's christian or muslim extremists claiming vaccines are apart of a jewish conspiracy too take over the world and kill their children, that's it. Plus anti-GMO is not anti science it's more like anti-FDA and anti-corporation bananas and cabbage are technically "gmo" but their not sprayed with pesticide resistant chemicals which is the main issue, among others

preferring a weaker alternative like ginger or lemon to cure a sore throat as oppose to cough syrup (which is poisonous and can be lethal) isn't anti-science either, it's a healthier albeit less strong alternative

the FDA or "science" as you so lovingly call it curently states tylenol (a drug that kills 800,000 per year) is a better remedy for pain than marijuana (a drug that has never killed a single person) marijuana is also illegal while prescription opiates ( drugs that commonly lead to heroin addiciton) are not

anti-GMO who claim that because GMO have altered genes it'll cause all sorts of weird things in humans if we eat it, is antiscience, because it is not backed by evidence. Won't comment on pesticides as I don't know too much about what they use, but since nonGMO crops rot quicker and are less resistent to pests, wouldn't you need more pesticide to get the same yield as GMO? If it's pesticide you're worried about.

Anything can be toxic. The dose makes the poison. This is because they have an effect on the body, and too much of that effect is undesirable and therefore deemed toxic. Sometimes at high enough dose the same mechanism of action has another effect, depending on the drug. That is why alternative home remedies made of food are always thought of as being "safer", because in truth it doesn't do much, which means it can't cause side effects since it has less effect to begin with (sometimes even no effect).

I'll be very surprised if FDA says tylenol is a safe drug. It has a very narrow therapeutic window, meaning you can easily overdose, and it is deadly when you do. Everyone should read the label and not take more than recommended. Whether or not it's a better remedy for pain than weed is a scientific question, and it works differently for everyone. As everyone has different rates of metabolizing drugs. More often people who take medication takes what works for them, not really the safest option that doesn't work all that well. And yes marijuana is safe. Opiates are very effective as painkillers, and they should be prescribed if people are in pain. Also FDA is not science.

Right. I don't know of anyone who started taking on the appearance of a cow because they were eating too many hamburgers, or someone who loves eating chicken growing feathers. But for some reason, if we eat GMO tomatoes it's going to affect us in a very bad way.

The simple truth is that GMO foods are just like their non-GMO counterparts, but maybe with different DNA. But it's not like our bodies absorb our food's DNA into our own DNA anyway. We don't take on the characteristics of the food we eat like that.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

You do seem to be anti-science because toxicology is a science. Yes, medicine can harm you if you overdose, but so can any chemical. Sugar is toxic at high levels, so is carbon dioxide, and so is arsenic. But does that mean that you can't have any arsenic? Your body can handle small amounts of arsenic, for example from rice in higher levels, and has no ill effects from it. But in high doses it becomes a problem.

Cough syrup quells coughs but if you drink a whole bottle you'd be stupid to think there would be no ill consequences.

And I never mentioned the FDA once so what the hell are you talking about?

Also where did you get that figure for 800,000 deaths a year from tylenol (which is a natural compound btw).

Also, here is an excellent video on why natural remedies are not safer or better than medication.
