I have decided to become an Atheist

Uh, you're ascribing a lot of nonsense there to what atheism actually is. Sorry to be pedantic. Atheism has nothing to do with evidence, or conclusions, or indeed looking. That has to do with the reasons someone may be an atheist. All atheism has to do with is whether or not someone believes in a god/gods. Their reasons can be wildly different, and certainly not every atheist is an atheist because they have done what you say.

I decided I'd like to be a theist. Might be kinda cool and all that (kids still say "cool", right?)

The problem is I don't know which god to start believing in. Plus I'd have to go out and buy lots of pastel nylon shirts and flares from Primark. I think I've got some plastic sandals though, somewhere.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I suffer from mental illness and have been in therapy and meds for years and I am sick of the pain and am just so pissed off and sick of God, I don't want anything to do with Him anymore.

So I have decided to become an Atheist, I put on my facebook and told everyone I am atheist now and God is no good for me. I also changed my religious view on this forum to Atheist. What are some other ways I can get people to know I am atheist? I play gw2 and I made a new character with the last name Atheist.

Where do you guys buy your clothes? I'd like to buy some shirts that say Atheist on them or make fun of Christianity/God.

I think this is a good turning point for my life, and maybe God will change his ways and realize what a dick he can be, but I doubt it.
Hmmm...(in Yoda's voice), confused you are. Understanding of Atheism, you do not have.

Well, others are dubious, so the grains of salt have already been taken, so to be the voice of hopeless naivete...the best way to be an atheist is [blank].

Seriously, that's all it is. Atheism is a "none" stance. There is no real need to express it, no need to show it. The best way to be an atheist is to be, well, a person. It need not define you, nor anything about you. Best thing to do is to read into religion, and study it and its effects on society at large, and how it affects others. Take as neutral a stance as you can, one without bias, and examine the world around you.

Even if this is satire, that is still advice I would give you regardless of who you are and what your views are.

I would agree with most of that. The only thing I would like to add is the way he talks about God. In his post, he talks as if he is trying to piss off a guy that is listening. Like making your girlfriend jealous. Being an Atheist is not being mad at God. You don't believe in a God to be mad at. Get it?

I suspect a Poe or troll. He has not posted again on this thread.

And the whole "I'm an atheist because I'm mad at God" thing smells of Christian misunderstanding of atheism.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Nah dude, he's too busy playing as his "atheist" persona on GW2.

Well, to be fair, being mad at god is a way some start on their path to being atheists. First comes the rebellion, then comes the rejection.

Discount at Son of Sams (atheist purchasing club) but you have to have a card to pull at the register, and the dues are hellish.

Once you get your shirts and whatnot you'll be all set, bona fide atheist.

OK, Napoleon. Pedantic or not, what you say is true enough. So let me rephrase - I myself took a look at the available evidence, (that is, available to me) and over a long period of time came to the conclusion that no deity exists. I am quite willing to change my mind should I ever find a compelling reason to do so. Other people may arrive at the same conclusion for whatever reason, perhaps no particular reason at all to another persons way of thinking. All would still be atheists.

But if you are angry at god, then you are not an atheist. You have to believe in the existence of someone before you can be angry at them. I'm angry at a lot of things, but I cannot be angry at someone I don't believe in the existence of. Snacks
