Adam and Eve Saved the Environment

Do you take the garden of Eden story literally? Is not apple and fruit synonymous in the symbolical sense? Serpent and snake?

Ooh, look a snake! Ooh, understanding!

Bibeln Wrote:Ormen var listigast av alla vilda djur som Herren Gud hade gjort.
---
Kvinnan såg att trädet var gott att äta av: det var en fröjd för ögat och ett härligt träd, eftersom det skänkte vishet.

Ooh! Another snake! Ooh, wisdom!

But right, other translations aren't good enough for GC, because his god cares about the language you read in.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

He does that all the time.

Yes, I know. It's like the saying about playing chess with a pigeon. They knock over all the pieces, shit on the board, then fly back to their coop to strut around and claim victory.

Yeah, the "tree to make one wise."

You become wise by obtaining knowledge. Not just knowledge on good and evil, but all types of knowledge.

Your interpretation is fail.

Yes I take it literally, actually the apple is fine, I take issue with with snake, they have no legs to walk on.

She saw the tree as to make her wise, Satan's deception, the tree is not described as making one wise, it is defined as the tree of knowledge of good and evil, my interpretation still stands.

You just don't understand the bible! Why don't you go and actually read the scriptures, you might learn something about the real light of god! Come back to us when you know what you're talking about!

(Heh heh, still fun. Tongue )

Also, to contribute something substantive as well, you might notice that the moment you picked Maelstrom up on his use of shorthand, he did something that you would never do, which was to amend the error and post the full title of the tree, in the very next post. He admitted the error and corrected it.

That must seem insane to you, right?

Yes I saw he corrected the name, he however did not correct the meaning he gave it, so why should I consider he corrected anything.

My interpretation was correct, and you are not properly understanding the scripture.

Because the name was the thing you were fucking taking issue with.

I honestly don't know what else he could have done, the name of the tree is literally the most self explanatory thing in the entire world.

"The tree of knowledge of good and evil? What the hell does that thing do? God's really creating these things with vague names, isn't he?"

What else did you want, a diagram? Should he have posted a youtube video puppet show explaining things? Jesus, GC, this is a forum, an exchange of ideas; if you think he's got it wrong, why don't you put your view of things out there so that people can decide for themselves? I mean, shit, that's the whole point of your big book of multiple choice fairytales to begin with!

I'd also like to note that, as I predicted, the idea of acknowledging any wrongdoing on his part, or amending his view on anything, was simply beyond GC here. Maybe I'm a prophet. Tongue
