RE: Hello
Welcome.

I've got a Catholic wife, but she knew what she was getting into from the get-go. I can't imagine having to pretend to be a believer.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Well that's a shame man. What brought you into the light?

I've always been scientifically minded. It was actually being brought into a Born-again church that pushed me over the edge and made me realize that although religion has some pleasant, well-meaning ideas behind it, it just doesn't stand up to any sort of scrutiny. Too many holes in the logic, and after enough time, I saw through them all.

Oh, and yes, Riften, as in the capitol of the Rift in Skyrim.

Hello and welcome to AF! ^_^
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Right on.

Although I would say that the pleasantness is so far eclipsed by the immorality, violence, and pure evil of its proposed god that it seems laughable that it could be considered "well-meaning." Undecided
