I didn't give the bankers the ability to fuck up the economy, either. The problem is that these people see no negative consequences for their deceitful and callous practices. Perhaps vigilante justice is just what the doctor ordered.

As for true solutions, one of them, bailouts, perpetuates the flawed system, while letting them fail would force us to fix it. The short-term would be painful, but in the long-term we would be better off. It appears that serious change will only be brought about through allowing the system to collapse on itself.

That the bank's role in the money cycle be shared by the government. That the government has a stronger hand in domestic economy.

The people are never powerless. As a matter of fact, people are the power. Banks are there to serve people, not the opposite.
If every american withdrew their money from the banks, they would go bankrupt. So why don't you do it?

Well, that is what their primary purpose should be. "Interest" is what makes banks the evil that they are.
They are legal loansharks, and they deceive the people by giving them interest. And people always welcome money that they do not earn by their sweat and blood. Outlaw interest, and the power of the banks will diminish.
