Where's Jesse? Where's Al? Where's Benjamin?

RE: Where's Jesse? Where's Al? Where's Benjamin?
I don't think Zimmerman shot Martin because he was black. I haven't heard anyone else express that opinion either. After all, Zimmerman hasn't shot anyone else that we know of, so someone merely being black is obviously insufficient to make him shoot that person.

However, unlike in your example, there's reason to think Martin would not have been shot if he were white because it would not have gotten to the point of the neighborhood guy struggling with the teenager in the first place. A history of Zimmerman following around and confronting white teenagers might disabuse me of this notion. The police should have a record of any such incidents given that he called them before confronting Martin...unless he only called in for Martin because the kid he was about to confront was black, of course.

The federal authorities finding no evidence of racism in the Zimmerman case is irrelevant as the racism was Zimmerman's attitude. Just because he didn't call Martin a "nigger" doesn't mean the attack wasn't racially motivated. Zimmerman assumed Martin was up to no good, and if you believe he would have done the same to a white boy out buying skittles, you need to shed your racial naiveté.

Sure, there is a double standard, but the problem is the people that attempt to demonstrate it only end up demonstrating their lack of understanding of the racial dynamic in this country, as you have.

Seriously? Can this forum get off the Zimmerman trial already? Dead Horse

And yet here you are. Did someone twist your arm to comment on threads that you're opposed to? There's plenty other discussions on the forum if you're tired of this one.

You're an expert then? So how do you see the racial dynamic in this country? ...Despite finding no evidence of racism how do you know it was part of Zimmerman's attitude? Other evidence has shown the contrary. There's definitely a double standard in the so-called "national conversation on race".

I know enough to know that a crime perpetrated by one race onto another doesn't automatically mean that race was a strong motivating factor. I also know that all people perceive others differently based upon their color, whether they are willing to admit it to themselves or not.

No one twisted my arm. I was just motoring through the threads and saw this car crash on the side of the road. Naturally I'm here rubber-necking. Now that I see what's going on I'm going to call out the window at you AT: "What a lot of resentment you carry, whitey!"

Oh. So you're not an expert after all.

Yup. That's true. Some of us have been saying that all along about the Zimmerman / Martin incident.

Is that a judgement you're making against Zimmerman despite that there was no evidence to prove that his motives were racist? In fact, in 2010 Zimmerman organized a protest against Florida cops who beat a homeless Black guy. That doesn't sound racist to me....

No, but it doesn't take an expert to recognize an idiot.
