Too much ankle showing. Sex-crazed muslim men will be raping them by the car load in those outfits!

Quite frankly I want an exemption from having to see that as well.

Huh DP? I'm reading that wrong I think, which side are you on?

This likely explains why I did so poorly my first year of calculus. As the only girl, and a sophomore, in a class full of male seniors, I may not have devoted as much attention to what was on the blackboard as I perhaps should have.

The only way an exemption can be seen as fair would be the court saying that all the kids whose parents do not want them in gym can be exempted. All girls who find topless guys too disgusting to tolerate can be exempted. All guys who feel the same about girls can be exempted, too. But that's just too ridiculous a situation.

I agree that religion shouldn't give someone special rights. If it makes her uncomfortable, well big deal, I can't do sports and I'm tone deaf but I attended all my gym and music classes during school because it was required. Yea, it was embarrassing, but fair's fair.

School just started for me, and one of my course syllabus stated that if religious holidays conflicted with the class, students can work out an alternative with the prof. Which really pisses me off because my course conflicts with another course and I won't be given special treatment. So now religion is worth accommodating but my interest isn't?

The court ruled today.

Muslim girls can be required by their school to attend swimming lessons and religious dresscode is not a valid excuse to not attend.

Hardly. Nothing but the fleshy tone is hidden behind the bikini. I'm serious: if the guys can have their nips showing, then the girls can too.

There is no non-ridiculous reason for it to be otherwise, actually. Something you'll find: societies can be goddamn ridiculous.

That it is required in the first place is absurd. If something makes a person uncomfortable, and it's not absolutely necessary: they can opt out of it. You *cannot* make a person move their legs against their will, with the exception of abuse cases, which demonstrates the folly of 'required classes' to begin with Smile

How about we allow people the opportunity to be educated, and allow them to fail if they should decide to not?

It pisses you off that they allow alternatives to be constructed? Would not it be better, instead of denying these people a very valid reason to reschedule, to have MORE alternatives available, such that might be suited to your ALSO valid needs?
