Slowly working through Christmas goodies, and got to a bag of cashews today.

My, they are tasty !!

I love cashews anyhow, and these be really yummy.

I recall a Chinese restaurant on Cedar Falls/Waterloo many years ago, they had really good cashew dishes. Their cook apparently had a technique for developing and releasing a very intense cashew kick I really appreciated. Most Chinese cashew dishes are just the regular version of whatever with some cashews thrown on top. At that place, they were cooked in and enhanced the entire dish.

I've also employed that idea at the Mongolian grill place I like, I go to the end of the cooking line and throw the chopped peanuts in with the meat bowl prior to grilling. Way better than just tossing them on top on the way back to the table.

My sister gave me a bunch of nuts in my stocking stuffers. I ate half a can of Planter's cocktail peanuts the other day. It gave me a headache.

I spent the evening uncluttering. I photographed some stuff and put it online for sale, and then took some other stuff to the thrift store. After that, I treated myself to a coffee and cookies at a favourite bookstore (and amazingly escaped without buying any new books, although there are a couple that might follow me home on a future trip).
