WASHINGTON (AP) - The House has voted to cut nearly $4 billion a year from food stamps, a 5 percent reduction to the nation's main feeding program used by more than 1 in 7 Americans.

This is nothing like it though. These welfare programs, I think, are being highly abused: mostly by people who generally do not wish to look for work, rather than being unable to find work, or being physically disabled.

And well, the influx of new and poor immigrants does not really add up to well for the people who pay for that food. Cut on immigration and end cheap labor, which would have less people sucking off the social security teat.
The fact that so many people "depend" on it, does not mean that one must ensure that they would continue to do so by choice.

According to the audit of foodstamps, fraud consists of only 1%. There isn't a lot of fraud going on with the program. Further about 83% of foodstamp users are the working poor and senior citizens, not people waiting for free food.

I've seen it in Germany, man. Most of the frauds that are associated with it are generally not known either.
As for the US, I don't know the exact numbers, but many people state its about 2% or something, though really, how often can you determine that a person is committing fraud? Most go unnoticed, and I don't think that there are a lot of people who live the good life on welfare, though even living as a poor person, living on hand-outs is a better way to be poor than to be working poor person, so I think that most poor people rather choose that direction.


I'd say opening government owned businesses and factories to create jobs for these people would be a better choice than just giving away this money for nothing. Really, only those who are physically to work should receive this.
Single moms with 3+ children and minorities who want to fuck over the majority..A no no in my opinion, but hey, its your taxes, your call, not mine. If you want to feed people for laying bare on their backs, okay.
But I think that money should be spent on creating jobs.
