Who here is a star trek fan?

RE: Who here is a star trek fan?
I've seen the new movies and I liked them, but yes, I know that doesn't count.

*Kay draws a deep breath*

Babylon 5 FTW, scifi tv-shows don't get better than that!

*Kay runs away before she's stoned to death by all the Trekkies*

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I like Tasha Yar...
Something about having seen the actress before in some series called something like red shoes diary... or something...

She just wasn't a very convincing vulcan... given her other attributes...

Never liked 7 of 9. The character, that is. Sensuality is not just brass tits and cybernetic ass.

Star trek never stooped to Jar Jar Binks.
But... 7 of 9 was so cute!!! And the whole ex-borg thing was so adorable...

I'm embarrassed for Star Wars fans that you had to lay this out publicly- you'd think they'd just lie low in this conversation, but no. This is why I couldn't bring myself to see II and III.

The problem in II and III is not Jar Jar, it's fucking Ani the whiny and clingy shitstain..

What a fucking waste of space that actress was. Michael Dorn was much better as Chief of Security.

I love both, and yes......we do not talk about I,II,III much and it was Ani (not the actor the dialogue). I love LaForge and Data's relationship. I had to act like a Star Wars troll for a second. To the above poster, Tasha Yar felt like a one dimensional character...however her affair with data was interesting.

I used to be really into Star Trek, especially TNG. TOS was pretty good and DS9 could occasionally be awesome (though I thought it really lost its bearings towards the end and got way too dark and gritty). Voyager was meh. By the time Enterprise came about, I no longer cared, and what I did see of it bored the shit out of me.

I like the original series. I have not bothered to watch anything else Star Trek, because I get attached to a cast of characters on a show and don't want to see a new cast. Hmph.

TOS for the story telling, DS9 for the arcs, Voyager for the confused story telling and inconsistent characters and TNG for some real award winners.

The Inner Light and Best of Both Worlds still rock my world.
