The Crocodillema

RE: The Crocodillema
Last time I asked this question of a Christian, they said, yes, they would kill someone if God commanded it.

Scary. They're just one dementia trip or schizophrenia diagnosis away from being a murderer.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I see that as the value of the question - it sorts out the people who only give lip service to personal revelation from those you should keep clear of the cutlery.
Sadly, it's those who are willing to act on the voices who I respect more, because they actually put their money where their faith is, but it's the disingenuous ones I'd rather spend my time with, because they are less likely to harm me and mine.

Yeah. And you claim I'm the one who goes in for bait and switch.
Last time I asked you this question, you managed to run on for several pages without answering, then started a new thread and ran on for eight pages before answering, then contributed to another thread criticising me for applying faulty logic in the construction of the question, without actually demonstrating where the fault lies.

Please answer the question without throwing any more red herrings about. Show the readers here your mettle with regard to personal revelation.

God has to exist in order for Him to ask me to kill someone.
...or to command me NOT to kill.

You claim God spoke to you in your personal revelation, but that's not compelling evidence to me that God exists. God doesn't need to exist for you to think you've received that message, because there are other mechanisms which could explain your having that personal experience.
The question doesn't presume the existence of a deity, it just acknowledges that people, such as yourself, have, or claim to have, personal revelations which they find compelling.
Don't try to boot strap your deity into existence off the back of the question you, once again, seem keen to not answer.
Again, I call on you to quit with the red herrings and answer: how would you react?

It's a very important question with huge ramifications.
I'm entitled to qualify a few points before answering.
If I was a US Navy Seal and God asked me to kill Usama Bin Laden, should I challenge my Commander In Chief or follow orders?

Are you a navy seal alleging to receive divinely mandated orders? If not, the example is not relevant to how you would react. If you want to examine the ethics and mechanisms of state mandated killing, start a thread on exactly that, and we could, in that context, parse out the difference between a divine commandment and an order from a human. Otherwise, quit with the red herrings.

How would you react?

I wouldn't kill unless I was sure the end justified the means.
Darwinian natural selection "commands" such killing every hour of every day.
