Wasn't long, in fact it happened before they actually agreed that cadets could omit the phrase.

Ha! Didn't take long at all.

Quote:Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council and a Marine Corps veteran, told Fox News it’s not about accommodating those who don’t believe in God.

“That already exists,” he said. “No one is forced to say this. This is about imposing an atheistic view on everyone so there can be no recognition of God.”

Perkins said the incident raises questions about who is in charge of the nation’s military.

Fox should be required to put quotations around "news".

For fuck sake. And what if a cadet wanted to say 'so help me satan', or Shakti, or Buddha? These dumb shits are clueless.

I remember a "scandal" here when a muslim state minister swoar her oath to allah or something like that.

Scandals surrounding issues like this one are simply instegated and have no ground on which one could build any argument.

What about "allah?" There'd be brown stains all over the carpet!

'I swear to god!'.... when people say that around me I usually say 'I swear to satan'. It elicits funny looks.

My brother says 'Satan bless you' to those who've just sneezed. My mother's withering look when it's her is priceless.

~Is curious why all verbal pledges regardless of stature are not optional? Imagine a 6 hour pledge. 6 hours wasted reciting a seemingly mute point.

The one thing I hate is when someone says "bless you" after you sneeze and then they're sitting there waiting for you to thank them. As if the only reason I won't get sick and die is because you invoked some magic after I sneezed. Why don't you bless me after I fart or have a particularly good bowel movement?

Why do conservatives think the Pledge of Allegiance is required every morning for school children? Or anyone else for that matter? I've said it once, so I don't have to keep reaffirming that pledge. If I ever want to renege on my allegiance to my country, I'll let everyone know.

FOX, of course!

To be perfectly honest, when I read the title to this thread I thought it was talking about the American Family Association. Which it wouldn't surprise me if they had an oath of loyalty to God or an oath to hate gays or something.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
