Richard Dawkins being his usual prissy self

RE: Richard Dawkins being his usual prissy self
He's just a normal human who get's pissed off at airports, I used to get irrationally pissed off when I went on national express coach journeys, but then I'm not famous and I never vented my anger on the internet about it.

I don't understand why people who don't like dawkins are interested in him enough to read up on what happened to his jar of honey and what he had to say about it, I find dawkins fairly interesting and think his opinions are usually spot on but I don't care about what he thinks enough to read up on his everyday events.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Yeah I think the airport security is shitty. I also find Dawkins to be irritating as hell. I do not exactly go out of my way to observe the man - the internet finds a way.

That's kinda the point though, removing most of what the TSA does doesn't lower security. "Security theater" is performing a lot of unnecessary actions that are claimed to increase security but in actual fact do nothing at all, other than waste people's time.

Security types are always defending against the last battle...and are always surprised by the next one.

By all means have sensible restrictions for security's sake, but if the official line is that the terrorists have forced you to go overboard and suspect threats everywhere (accurate or not), then the primary goal of terrorism - spreading terror - has become a way of life.

I agree that the rules are stupid, and the TSA does nothing but give the appearance of security. Given that, however, if I find myself in need of using aeronautical transportation, I'm going to ensure that I have met all of those rules prior to boarding, rather than piss and moan about those clearly posted rules after I'm inconvenienced by my failure to follow them.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I don't understand why people are hating on Dawkins so much.

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
