"Recovering" memories through hypnosis has already been shown to be unreliable. Hypnosis is a generative state, like dreaming, and even more so a suggestible state. I should know, as I have been hypnotized. If you're trying to rid yourself of anxiety and you are the kind of person that can be hypnotized, you will have great success with hypnosis. It feels amazing. But it's only good for altering one's emotional state, not for uncovering memories lost in one's subconscious.

I think there's got to be life out there. Immense, endless amounts of stars and planets. The chances that this is the only one inhabitable seems highly unlikely. If other planets are inhabitable, there's no reason they wouldn't sustain life, if they're as old as ours, or older. Skeptical about exactly what kind though. Super-quick space travel is so far beyond humanity right now it's going to be a long time before we'll find out.

Europa's a great candidate. My money's on Titan, though - it's quite a bit warmer than Europa, and is more chemically active. Still, all that subsurface water (probably) on Europa keeps me hopeful.

My absolute favorite book by Kurt Vonnegut is The Sirens of Titan. It's also in my top 20 of all time, though maybe not in my top 10. If you haven't read it, get on it.

I have friends who believe that aliens are already living amongst us. Some of them think that they're doing so in human form, which I think is so bullshit. But, you can't deny that there could be aliens masquerading as rabbits in forests. How often do people DNA test the rabbits in forests? Exactly. Perfect cover.

UFO sightings come and go - strangely often found to be coinciding with the release of another alien/E.T. type movie. The same thing happened when "War of the Worlds" was published, I believe.

Like Owlix, I find it extremely unlikely we're the only form of intelligent life with how vast the universe is, however there's nothing to say that said alien life has the ability to visit us in space vessels or that they would be carbon based life. It's possible they could be a form of life that we wouldn't immediately recognize if we saw them.

Stories involving UFOs and abductions seem unlikely or else there would be more evidence to support the claims.

Given all the conditions which had to happen for life to acquire our level of intelligence, and the fact that it took the better part of 5 billion years to get here, and also given how it was by no means pre-ordained that we would be where we are today, I am of the mind that life beyond our level of intelligence is far too rare for us to bump into each other anytime soon.

Isn't it strange that all the pictures of aliens show creatures with 2 eyes, 2 arms, 2 legs, different proportions maybe but still humanoid in shape? How many "sightings" describe something truly "alien"?
