Why yes, it should work for light - if by this you mean electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum. Radio waves are pretty much the same as visible light, just with a much larger wavelength.

Well theoretically it is that simple, but it's a little hard to believe that it's so simple. I mean we're talking about a freaking cloaking device. It's like star trek. And Harry Potter.
