Honestly, it would save a lot of money that way. Insurance companies would't have to spend all that money on marketing or executive saleries. Hospitals wouldn't have to spend all their money with a billing department, trying to track down poverty sticken people whose only option for health care is to come into the ER when a situation becomes unbearable.

Sure, taxes would go up for this. It would more than make up for itself in that we wouldn't have to pay health insurance premiums anymore. So if your taxes go up $30 a month, but you're currently paying $50 a month in health insurance, guess what? That's $20 a month you save. Pretty good, huh?

Not if we cut the defense budget in half and actually use it for "defense" instead of trying to police the whole fucking world.

I'd love that, too, but the defense contractors will NEVER let it happen. What do you think they expect to get out of all that money they spend on lobbying?

It isn't the contractors I worry about. It's their republicunt buddies.

RE: Obamacare not affordable
From what I understand, Obama had to compromise with the Republitards to get what he could as far as Obamacare is concerned, and as a result it is not a true form of universal health care. If anyone is to blame, look no further than the Republitards who never want to do anything unless it benefits them and their one percent.

Actually, Obama capitulated on single-payer before they ever got started. The Dems aren't THAT different from the republicunts. It is merely a matter of degree.

I knew I was lied to the moment Obama didn't close down Guantanamo, jackass. It didn't take a genius to see, though it does take at least some cursory intellect.

At a bare minimum, I am not some idiotic conspiratard who shovels it by the tonne.

So, are you arguing that if someone has an illness caused by "lifestyle," they deserve whatever health problems they get?

Yeah, people who smoke themselves tp death or eat themselves to death, etc should pay very high premiums. I work at my health very seriously, a day does not go by that i don't count my calories and macros. i don't smoke. drink, use drugs, etc so why should i pay for people who don't give a damn? I think i have a fair point.

Moros (it should Moron) Synackaon, if a car hits me then automobile insurance will cover and you think i'm stupid, LOL

It won't if you're walking and the driver is uninsured or underinsured.

But by all means, keep your head in the sand and roll the dice.

RE: Obamacare not affordable
I've lived long-term in two countries and visited dozens. Not once have I ever heard a citizen of these countries say, 'Gosh, if only we had an insurance scheme like they have in the US.'

I recently received my final EOCS regarding back surgery I had on October 22 of this year. Total billable cost was a squidge over NZ$80,000. My share of that was just under NZ$100 - the surcharge for a private room.

I confess to knowing very little about Obamacare. I related the above simply to point out that it is possible to have a comprehensive national health care system without either excessive taxation or wrecking your economy.
