Okhlobystin later tweeted to confirm his comments. "The meaning was rendered correctly," he said. "Everyone has the right to express their opinions."

To me, under Putin, it seems they're reverting to Soviet times.
But there's no doubt that what this "guy" stated is vile in the extreme.

On a brighter note, can we ship the WBC over to Russia? I'm sure they'd be more happy there. Then again, maybe they wouldn't be because they wouldn't have anyone to piss off.

If viewed as a contagion, and considered negative, then homosexuality constitutes a threat to children, in the same way that polio constitutes a threat to children.

Fuuuuuuuuck he was one of my favorite actors. I did not know he is a religious nut. Fucking religion poisons everything.
As for gay people I think burning them alive is a little bit overkill.

One can peruse the history of the insurgence of the Russian Orthodox church by starting with the National Geographic article a while back.
