You'll rarely get the atheists here to agree positively with any idea. If you ask, "Do you have an active believe in the existence of a spirit or of a soul?" I think you'll find that almost zero percent here will answer "yes."

I hope you aren't implying that that is a negative thing.

The default position on any claim that is unsupported by evidence and reasoned argument should be to withhold belief.

If one cares whether their beliefs are true, or at least likely to be true, that is.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Did you have a point to make, or did you just want me to read your mind? Have you even read much of Democritus?

I've studied the pre-socratics and the schools of ancient Greek philosophy extensively. Posting links to Wikipedia entries ain't gonna cut shit here.

Wikipedia Wrote:The theory of the atomists appears to be more nearly aligned with that of modern science than any other theory of antiquity. However, the similarity with modern concepts of science can be confusing when trying to understand where the hypothesis came from. It is obvious that classical atomists would never have had a solid empirical basis for our modern concepts of atoms and molecules. Bertrand Russell states that they just hit on a lucky hypothesis, only recently confirmed by evidence.

All evidence points to consciousness being a product of a material brain.

Please provide evidence for a consciousness that exists absent a physical brain.

We'll wait.....

Way to vague of a term. I have heard almost as many definitions as the number of people I've asked to define it.

A part of undiscovered matter.
this is a field of (energy - matter).

Also some persons when had been dead could see doctors upon their body and could see dead families and spoke them. They had been revived by doctor and said what saw and said and heared.

On what do you base your belief on? How did you arrive at the percentages?

A) All of the world make one god ( i do not say one God created world rather all the world make a god) + B) there are some hidden and invisible exists that claim to humans there are God + C) some invisible exists do not claim they are god but they influence to humans life.

Foundation of Islam is based on the Qur'an.
Prophet Mohammad claimed that he heard a voice ;God's angel has introduced its own sound.
That angelic voice brought the Qur'an to Muhammad.

I thought 3th and 4th and 5th are good idea aginst Mohammad.

1) Maybe generally Muhammad lied.
2) The sound may be only an illusion of Muhammad.
3) Maybe Muhammad really heard voice.

If Muhammad really heard voice, that is not proved it was voice of God or God's Angel!
Because if we suppose invisible existence exist then souls and spirits and other hidden existence maybe called with Muhammad and they claim they are God or Angel of God!

That is how I understand it. Gods are "super" humans. "Super" in one or more ways:

Stronger
Faster
Immortal
Intellence
Knowledge
Wisdom
Awareness
Telekinetic
Able to fly
Typically controls and has dominion over us, nature or part of it. - I think this feature, along with immortality are distinquishing features for a creature to be considered a god.

Their abilities are above and beyond (super[ior] to) our own.
