That's the sound of Hillary taking the oath of office. Jersey the Hutt was the only one with half a chance of stopping her.

I'm concerned that if this makes Christie non-viable as a candidate, then one of the crazy Republicans has a chance. Clinton is hated on the right and there may be an 'ObamaCare' backlash. Those two things open the door for a Republican win.

One can only hope that the Republican ticket is too batshit crazy to get elected.

I wouldn't worry about that. The batshit wing of the GOP plays well in the primaries, but when it comes to the general election they scare the hell out of most sensible people. Nominating such a candidate is a sure-fire way for the party to further marginalize itself.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Obama is not exactly polling well these days, and there is bound to be a backlash. The big question for me is how Clinton (or anyone else from the Democratic party) will distance themselves from the worst aspects of the Obama presidency without exposing themselves to charges of being political weather vanes.

The deadly combo of the primary system and FOX makes that a foregone conclusion.

I read that Santorum (I get a disgusted feeling every time I mention his name) is planning on running again in 2016.

And why not? Nothing says "I should run in 2016" like getting bitch-slapped in 2012.

Follow Up.

Here's a surprise. Christie's own lawyer says he has investigated and TA-DA - the governor didn't know shit about what his aides were doing.

http://apnews.excite.com/article/2014032...9E901.html

Quote:NEW YORK (AP) - Lawyers hired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's administration said Thursday that the governor was not involved in the plot to create a traffic jam last fall, a conclusion that left the lead lawyer defending the integrity of his report, which came ahead of the results of separate and ongoing federal and legislative investigations.

Well. I guess that settles that, huh? "Nothing to see here, folks...move along...move along!"

Assholes.
