I recently really offended someone in real life when I challenged their beliefs in Applied Kinesiology and other such alternative medicine practices. It's really hard to hear accurate criticism of something someone believes in so heavily, especially if that person is extremely close to you. Sometimes, it doesn't even matter if you've used all the tact in the world: they start looking at you and your critical eye in a new light.
