I would take the death penalty quite that likely, but people in the sex trafficking business should probably be put to hard labor instead. Though it's possible they were made into slaves too. Like the priests who are molesting boys because they were molested until they considered it the norm.

I disagree completely with that statement, perhaps more so than the others, and I hope that after re-thinking it you can see why.

Non-violent crimes does not mean "victimless" crimes. If you had said that, I would have probably agreed with you. People shouldn't get jail sentences for taking drugs for instance.

However there are plenty of examples of non-violent crimes which deserve proper punishment in a jail. Fraud (how else should Bernie Madoff be punished?), burglary, even plotting to commit a violent crime are all examples of this.

Yeah, kind of made a mistake with that one. I was thinking about someone taking drugs or something where they're not hurting people, but damage can be done without actually laying a hand on someone.
