The cost of healthcare is overwhelming - medical equipment is sold to hospitals at artificially high prices (see the Times article referenced on Jon Stewart sometime last year or the year before) and fuck the pricing in general does not make sense. Hell, even shit like shots... my aunt went to the hospital, got six shots of the SAME MEDICINE and SAME DOSAGE and they all had different price tags. We do desperately need universal healthcare of some sort, but also an all around reduction and consistency in costs.

There is also the problem of the cost of malpractice insurance and this is a societal problem brought about by the fact that we have too many fucking lawyers running around loose and they think that every time someone dies they can make a case that someone else is responsible for it.
