Do tell.

Quote:Incredible how you know so much more than companies how to run them. What exactly do you do for a living?

I know that between WWII and the advent of Reaganomics, top executives made far less while paying more taxez and paying regular employees actual living wages and the economy went in the tank and poverty was rampant and manufacturing was dead and no one invested in American companies an oh wait that's all precisely not what happened at all.

I have no idea. Ask Tiberius.

Hilarious. You tax your CEOs so they leave and we will be delighted to bring them to the UK just as we have taken so many dynamic French business leaders.

Up until the people of the UK get sick of exploitation and poverty wages and do what needs to be done.

Quote:Why do we have 'no choice'? You really think that by taxing them more the companies they work for will pay their workforce a higher wage? Economics really isn't your thing is it?

Of course taxing them won't make them pay higher wages. Taxing them will pay for the food stamps and welfare their employees need to feed and shelter themselves. Companies which pay starvation wages are most of the reason why the welfare state is as big as it is. I know you're okay with ridiculous executive pay at exploitative companies, so much so that you're willing to pay more taxes to subsidize them.

One of my objections to the initial post is the assumption that CEO's are job creators. They aren't. The job creators are the one's that buy the products or in other words create the demand for products. As long as there is no growth in the poor and the middle class the economy will continue to suffer and never really grow at the level it should.

People tend to confuse the people who hire people with creating jobs. They aren't the same people. As long as we have too much supply (the rich and wealthy who invest). All they do is move the demand from one product to another.

Perfect example that I have heard from a lot of right wingers is how Steve Jobs created jobs. But did he? As a result of higher sales of IPADS etc, the sales of laptops and PC computers went down. IN other words all they did was shift jobs from one product to another. They did not create jobs.

So Please, give me a break with the obvious false claim that they create jobs.

You just can't see the sarcasm dripping off those two words in my post. I assure you, it's there. Consumer wealth and demand creates jobs.

Very true.

Lack of demand has hurt businesses, large and small, far more than regulations.

Even Walmart has come out and said, the foodstamps cuts has hurt their business.

I thought the first post was a bit of tongue and cheek, but i kept reading through the posts and I couldn't help thinking about how people always give this a pass.

Another pass republicans keep getting is that they claim that they don't want to feed the poor, they want to give them the tools to feed themselves.

But in fact republicans do not give them the tools. They instead are trying to hide the tools from them and robbing them blind every chance they can.
