The new Doctor

RE: The new Doctor
I don't like the Doctor being old looking again. I like him young and sexy. I'd like him even more if he were a Time Lady. Then I would be like, "GETINMAHBEDNAO!" I would even have sex with people who looked like (her)... even if it was only a little. I do that with Tina Fey, too.

Eleven was more flirty than previous incarnations of the Doctor, probably due to the influences of River and Amy, but I still think Doctor Who NEEDS MOAR SEX.

Even Torchwood, really. Lots of making out. An acceptable level of actual sex. Could have done with MOAR SEX.

That's the problem with Sci-Fi, really. So much of it is so sexless. And when there is sex, it's usually boring heterosexual missionary position sex between only two people. If my sci-fi ever makes it to screen, oh my god, it will make Torchwood look hetero and tame. I guess that means it will be on HBO. Keep an eye out. Wink

Since its quite obvious that you don't follow the show, you may not have noticed that I am a whovian. Don't start a fight you can't possible fathom. I wanted ridicule of the new outfit, not of the show.

We just have the ablity to laugh at ourselves and at other people, without feeling guilt or shame.. Does that make us superior, or does that make us complex? Only if you say so.

You should play Mass Effect if you haven't already.

World Series.

Oh, yeah. I love Bioware games. I would love to be a writer for Bioware someday. I once heard Mass Effect 3 referred to as "Space Fucking 3." ROFLOL

Capaldi is only about the same age as William Hartnell was when he first took the part. The Universe needs some discipline again.

Consider that these are meant to be the same person:

I disagree, and not for the usual reasons that get trotted out about DW fans having no girlfriends. Doctor Who needs to be about the stories and the characters. The Universe in DW terms tends to be a place filled with monsters, human and otherwise, and subjugation of voiceless minorities. Sex, unless handled sparingly and judiciously, should be only a tiny part of that picture, if at all. Otherwise it gets boring. Oh, someone wants to shag the Doctor again? Ok, wake me when something different happens.

Case in point. Torchwood was a good example of using sex as padding for a thin story. Not that all the stories were thin, but cut out the sex subplots and you'd end up with half a season at best. There are other, far better ways to adult a story than simply have all the characters fuck each other all the time. It has its place, but overuse merely renders the whole attempt adolescent.

With good reason most of the time. If the story has nothing to do with sex, or any other 'adult' topic such as race or gender issues, what is to be gained by shoehorning such things into it?

Interesting you should make this complaint inbetween referencing Torchwood, with its polysexual themes. I look forward to seeing your own sci-fi vision though. Any chance of an advance copy?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I dig the look, but am more interested in how Capaldi interprets the character. Hopefully it is more in line with how John Hurt's Dr. chastised Tennant's and Smith's Doctors for aimlessly waving their sonic screwdrivers about in The Day of the Doctor. I'm also hoping the writers use this as an opportunity to give us more character and plot substance and fewer chase scenes and the like.

Yes, I was impressed by the Hurt Doctor. The maturity and sheer Doctorness made for a refreshing return to classic form. I only hope, as you do, that the Capaldi version gives us what John Hurt could have done given more seasons.

your hero looks like liberace's 'special brother' who was into magic.

You know I really tried to give the good doctor a chance. But the show was needlessly convoluted and the only thing worse than the show are its diehard fans. Trekkies have nothing on 'those people.'

Which part of "the good doctor" did you sample? Because if it was any part of the last few years, I can hardly blame you for being put off.
