Just ugh!

I observed something similar to this pathetic mess last night - turns out that many men and women have no idea how to even talk to the opposite sex.

They're sold ridiculous fantasies that ended up characterizing our tropes - it is much more common to find in the media, our discussions and even our casual stories of our relationships that love simply happens, as if it was born within a vacuum.

You want to understand where men and women and up getting these ridiculous views of "entitled to sex"? Views on the "proper way to do things"?

Sadly it's not just within popular culture.

Did you know you could get a divorce simply based on the fact that you or the other does not have enough sex in the marriage?

It seems intellectually lazy to blame it on "patriarchy".

When you're swamped in a culture of unhealthy relationships, bad behaviors, and unrealistic expectations without even the understanding to talk with another, blaming it upon some buzzword is of the greatest disservice to the understanding of each component and hinders discussion to move forward. How can we focus upon teaching each other?

It's very much like someone desperately attempting to get the last word in an argument and ending up poisoning the entire relationship because "they had to win".

You want to know why I find issues with both self-described men's rights activists and so-called feminists?

Because it is boiled down to a pissing match between extremists on either side, absolutely joyous to label and the deride with their special terminology.

And we all lose.

In the end run there will be lots of men and women living very unhappy lives without even the slightest clue how to engage the opposite sex in a decent discussion... And get to know the other like a human being.

But hey! We can always blame it on the buzzword instead of the myriad sources of bad information, habits, and teachings!

Right!
Dude, look how long your post was. I didn't think anyone would care enough to read through that much crap, so I condensed the idea for easier consumption.

You better head on over to Reddit, go to Advice Animals and bask within their easy to digest memes.

I'm quaking in my verbose booties.

ROFLOL You're acting as though we are somehow at odds, but we both said the same thing, just at different lengths.

Paraphrasing cos i wasn't typing as he's saying it. If that's not entitlement I don't know what is.

So, if a rich guy, who's well fed is complaining to a poor, starving man about how terrible his food is, do you think that's kinda a douchebag move? Or should the poor guy be shamed for having a sense of entitlement?

I don't think that's an apt analogy. Is the rich guy the girl? Because in this analogy it sounds like if the rich guy doesn't like the food, he shouldn't complain to someone who has nothing. But if a girl doesn't like a guy who worships her and therefore goes off with someone else, what exactly did she do wrong? What choice does she have? Either she dishonestly stays with someone she doesn't like, or goes off with someone she does like. What would be her equivalent of not complaining to the poor man?

He's talking about not picking the guy who treats you like a queen. Probably all of us have done some equivalent of that in the past.

An apt analogy would be a girl who was really nice to a guy she likes, he picks someone else, one day his girlfriend cheated on him and she goes, yea well you fucking deserve it for not picking me, while thinking she's the nice one. She would be the one who's the "fake friend", but she thinks the guy is being the fake friend for not picking her.

No one forces you to stay friends. People will ask you to stay friends if they really like you as a friend (and yes, that is a real thing). You can always say no.

Well, I'm thinking more along the lines of "it's a douchebag move to complain about not having the right __x__ to someone who doesn't have __x__ at all. Whether that "x" is food or romantic affection, it's still hurtful; especially when you're playing a role in denying them whatever it is they want.
