Doesn't that mean that the law was written by god, for god? Why burden humanity with something he knew they could not accomplish?

The Bible says that the reason for the law was to see if people were stupid enough to follow it.

God wasn't asking a question in the hypothetical, he was issuing a command. But I think we have our answer as to how you would respond. Most consider your type of response to be evasive, dishonest, and disappointing.

I wouldn't sacrifice anyone even if god told me to do it. To me god has the same authority as any other thinking being. Of course he can torture me for disobeying but so can people.
