Noah the movie

RE: Noah the movie
That's a good idea, though, stranding Bibles on islands.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Ken Ham doesn't want you to see it. For the funniest and most ironic reason of all time.

Ken Ham Wrote:"Sure, after watching the film, people could be directed to read the true story for themselves in the Bible,” Ham said. “But in this day and age, young people have a hard time deciphering reality from fiction and don’t often take the time to form their own educated opinions.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

That's hilarious right there. I can imagine the film makers, with their higher knowledge of how the world actually works, will make the story more believable in the movie than it is in the book.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

That would make for a shitty movie. Now that special effects have progressed to where we can do almost anything on-screen, we can really have fun with a movie about the flood. Push the boundaries! It's kind of a dry story, after all.

Why not have a scene where the dinosaurs come rumbling over the hills, ridden by the nephilim who are carrying those huge anime swords ready to massacre Noah and his family? Noah runs inside the half-finished ark and... SURPRISE!!! God showed him how to build a rail gun from balsa wood and acorns, and it's time to show some motherfuckers how we do shit in this neighborhood! Oh, you're laughing at the acorn gun? Let's see if you're still laughing when an acorn accelerated to near light speed vaporizes your arm, shithead!

I hope the movie is better than the book, because the book sucked.

Quote:It's pretty much just Jesus being tortured and dying for two hours.

Yup...reminded me of that old high school football cheer: "Hit him again, hit him again, Harder, Harder!"

And the Aramaic and Latin horseshit was an interesting gimmick....for about 5 minutes.
