I am legitimately sorry if I was disrespectful. Where did I fall short though?

Some of the things you said are demonstrably false, and if you stuck around, the worst you could leave here with is learning some things, and maybe you can bring some apologetics we haven't been exposed to before. We're a tough crowd, but if you show some earnest desire to discourse, this could be a positive experience...
This is very true. Thank you. I will consider it.

Funny this pops up just now.

Quote:A change in a ‘Statement of Belief’ has college professors concerned about their jobs at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.

According to the timefresspress.com, the board of trustees at the small evangelical college – named in honor of William Jennings Bryan, the man who helped prosecute the 1925 Scopes Trial – recently made a change to the institution’s 80 year-old ‘Statement of Belief’, requiring all school employees to agree that “We believe that all humanity is descended from Adam and Eve.”

What use is a college degree issued by such a collection of fucking idiots?

Any Christians involved with such action are, indeed, idiots. Anyone with a desire to force religion upon people should check a history book; it never goes down well. Not sure why you brought this up here though.

Lots of the species that actually have pictures are either silly drawings or look like they were run over by a car. Similarly, a ton of them are fish and other smaller creatures, which we see an abundance of today. Fossils like tiktaalik are great; few more of those would be fantastic. But I still just see a lot of gaps. And if big creatures are so hard to fossilize, why are there multiple fossils of so many dinosaurs?

This "transitional fossil" gambit is a typical creationist tactic that is actually pretty genius. No matter how many transitional fossils are presented, there are never going to be "more than a few" with respect to the hundreds of millions of species that have ever inhabited this planet. The double whammy comes in when every time there is a transitional fossil to fill the gap... guess what? Now there are two gaps! It really is great as an apologetic...as long as you don't think about it too long.

Never mind that there actually are some fantastic examples of exactly what you would expect if evolution were true, never mind that some of the best examples of these transitional fossils are part of the human lineage. Never mind the fact that fossilization is an extremely rare event that requires precise conditions and that we are extremely lucky to have what we have. There's just never enough.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I'd like to point out, Spage, that the rules are tighter in the Intro section, and it's generally a more cordial atmosphere. When new members make intro threads, they tend to have a much nicer experience overall. Why? Because when you don't make one, it feels like a stranger walking into our living room and shouting his opinions without us even knowing his name. You expected respect, but didn't bother showing us any. When I joined, I posted an intro thread, and then lurked for months before feeling I knew the forum well enough to jump in. I'm not encouraging that extreme by any means, but it's nice to get to know people before expecting anything from them.

Or how about this?

That's because every time a new fossil is found that fills in one of the gaps you see two gaps.

RE: My take on Life
Is it a fair guess Spage that you have gotten all your "knowledge" about evolution from the likes of ICR and AIG? And that you have not,in fact, read ANY actual scientific literature on the subject?

Because if that is indeed the case, then debating with you is a total fucking waste of time.
