THat's why i do it.

To be honest, after a bad relationship I've dropped that rule somewhat.

But if a guy's prepared to stick around for a while he's likely worth it.

I get older if I'm as old as the person I feel.

Holy shit Mr. Moncrieff, my vision of you was like late thirties early 40's. No idea why!!! ROFLOL
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I've done that a couple of times. Particularly after I broke up from the aforementioned relationship a couple of years ago.

I first felt that way when I was approaching my 28th birthday and realized that I was just two years away from hitting 30. So I confided in a friend about my apprehension about nearing 30. His reply was "30's not so bad, it's the 40's you really need to worry about." At this point I realized that I had asked this of a man in his mid-40s, and realized how silly I was being about the whole thing, and stopped worrying about it.

And more than seventeen years later, I still don't worry about it.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

To be honest, I prefer a "friends with benefits" arrangement to a romantic relationship. I'm good at being a friend and I'm good at being a lover. I'm not so good at (monogamous) romantic relationships.

That's what my upcoming (pardon the pun) weekend is all about.

A guy I've known for years, and I know he's trustworthy, are going to try out those benefits.

Cool. I think the world would be a better place if friends-with-benefits relationships were more socially acceptable.
