Try considering this: take a couple months off, wean off the meds, eat a completely natural diet and consider some fasting, relax, read, and meditate.

Fasting feels great. I get euphoric when I do the water and tea (no calories) all day and eat a big meal at night. It's lent. But I'm already quit thin and a lot of fasting also makes my muscles atrophy. However, the body always burns the Carbohydrate (fat) stores for energy before burning muscle.

I think that it is possible that you are not trolling in this instance so I will respond.

HA! If your goal was to actually be helpful in any way, you are absolutely clueless as to what it would be helpful to say. And the degree to which this is true amuses me greatly. Thanks for the amusement.

Why do you think He's a troll?

The part about diet, fasting, and meditation is good. I don't like the "wean of the meds" advice.

Really? It is not a thing I have ever done and what you just said is the opposite of what I imagined would be the actual experience of it.

The only reason why I would ever fast would be as a form of protest about something I cared sufficiently about, and I would not do it unless I was reasonably sure that the chances that it would actually make a positive enough impact on the matter were good. So far, that situation has not happened in my life. Maybe someday it will, and I will find that what you just said is true for you will also be true for me. I'm doubting it.

In the middle of a career switch after being an officer in the US Navy for 8 years. I am just starting a new job as a Financial Account Rep with New York Life.
Futile, have you gotten any interviews?

RE: how do you make ends meet?
I'm a technician at Intel. It is the most I've ever been paid and the least I've ever worked. The work I do is extremely technical so the random putz factor (No random putz could come in and perform my job.) is at work to make my pay worthwhile to the company. I love my job, in that it pays for my family and is genuinely interesting sometimes; but I long for some other thing. I've thought of growing mushrooms or brewing beer or some combination of both. I'm probably too comfortable and apathetic to actually engage in either.

Random advice:

Don't go off your meds

When looking for a job, go through a temp agency. Many positions are available without even interviewing and it is a great way to try out several lines of work.

If you don't like the way things are going; change what you are doing.

Not a single one since I have started attempting to get a job, and I really am trying and have been for like, months now.

Is this just because what they say about the economy being awful right now and the job market sucking and how insanely stupidly competitive it is right now are like, 1,000 times more true than I thought they were?

Or is this really just something that is a "me" thing?

I honestly have no clue.

Definitely good advice and definitely not going to go off them for any reasons. It is insane how stupid that suggestion was.

Quote:When looking for a job, go through a temp agency. Many positions are available without even interviewing and it is a great way to try out several lines of work.
Huh. I never considered this to be a good idea because my mom was a temp agent and she has absolutely never suggested to me that it would be a good idea to go through a temp agency. I think this is because it really matters a lot for my well-being that whatever job I do, I have the opinion that it is somehow meaningful and not fundamentally soul-killing.

WOW, it took me a long time to figure out what you meant from that. At first I thought it was some sort of cliche I had never heard of and had no possible clue as to the meaning of.

Absolutely sure that a person exists that would benefit from this comment. I am a person who has not even eaten a chip since I last went on vacation with my family, which would be months ago, almost a year now. Therefore, I do not see how this information is relevant for me whatsoever, but thanks anyway.

Have you SEEN the other posts he has made, in the thread about lisps, for example? THAT is why. The things he chooses to say are just so insanely disproportionately offensive compared to every single thing anyone else says here that I don't know of any other possibilities other than these two things:

1. Alpha male is just a phenomenally bad person who is trolling on the internet.
2. Alpha male is a kind of bad person who is trolling on the internet to an insane degree.

If he is not trolling, I am actually wrong in my estimation of the degree to which humans SUCK, which I think is on average, a phenomenal degree, and it is actually HIGHER.

For the love of Sappho, I do not want that to be true.

Are you sending out resumes that are targeted? Cover letters, too? What kind of job are you looking for? If this is too much info, let me know. I've just really been successful at getting interviews, I know some tips and tricks to increase your likelihood of getting a call.
