Time for Christians to blacklist Firefox and OKCupid

Time for Christians to blacklist Firefox and OKCupid
First of all, the article starts by playing the typical persecution card and wondering why no one harps on Muslims..

Quote: There's a simple reason Christians don't get any respect in America.

It's because we don't DESERVE IT.

Tell me that I'm wrong....but right after you do, explain to me why liberals WET THEMSELVES IN FEAR when they merely THINK ABOUT doing something that could offend Muslims.

There's a simple reason that Hollywood and liberals don't take shots at Muslims: Muslims take notice and get offended. You make fun of Allah today and your head might end up in a mailbox tomorrow or some bucktoothed Imam in Pakistan might use it as an excuse to start riots that end up killing a dozen people. CAIR can complain about "stereotypes" all it wants, but that's reality and judging by the silence we hear coming from most "moderate Muslims" over the way their radical brethren behave, this sort of violent intimidation either doesn't bother them very much or they're as frightened as liberals to say anything about it.

So, what lesson can Christians take away from that?

No, it's not burn down the New York Times if Maureen Dowd makes a crack about Jesus. We're Christians, not radical Islamists;

We just need to stop ignoring grotesque provocations aimed at our faith. If Christians here in the United States won't even pick the low hanging fruit and make companies that rely on our business to survive pay a price for disrespecting us, not only do we not deserve respect, people have every reason to question the sincerity of our beliefs.

That brings us to OkCupid and Mozilla Firefox.

OkCupid is a third rate, anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-free speech dating site that got extremely upset at Mozilla Firefox.

Why?

Because Mozilla Firefox, a third rate, anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-free speech browser company, had a CEO named Brendan Eich who gave $1000 to support Prop 8 in 2008.

As you may remember, Prop 8 did nothing more than state the standard Christian position on marriage. It said, "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

That is OkCupid and Mozilla Firefox sending a message.

That message is that they believe people who support traditional marriage are second class citizens. That message is that they don't respect conservatives. That message is that Christians aren't welcome to use their products.

So, as a Christian, what are you going to do about it?

Mumble something about it being "unfair?" Whine a little? Are you going to sniffle because they're picking on you?

If you're tired of seeing Christianity smeared, traditional marriage destroyed and good men mocked because they believe in Jesus Christ, send your own message to Mozilla Firefox and OkCupid. If you believe that Jesus Christ deserves a modicum of respect, PROVE IT. If enough Christians follow in your footsteps, you better believe other businesses will pay attention and they will think twice before they spit in our faces again. "Faith without works is dead," my friend, and if we want Christianity to have a future in this country, then it's time to start standing up, speaking out and fighting back when we're disrespected like this.

I do not even know where to begin. Honestly, I have responded to tired, unoriginal rhetoric like this many times, and I honestly doubt I have it in me to state the obvious about the author. Therefore, I will leave it in your capable fingers on the keyboards.

Eich has resigned from being CEO.

Mozilla's board knew what crosshairs they were placing him into.

They're the ones who exposed Eich, to force him to explain his donation to a cause devoted to restricting rights.

He was good at his previous position and there was no issues.

Mozilla's board, in their little intra-family fight, made this a problem.

Mozilla constantly poses itself as a political organization, as the forefront of new open source (trying to avoid long history of sexism, et al associated with old open source).

They should have known Ahead-of-time what would happen.

No one questions the political donations of Exxon. That's because Exxon doesn't put itself as a mouth piece of anything but selling/buying goods.

Eich, to his discredit, handled the issue poorly. He didn't figure that the issue was about him, not Mozilla.

The public wanted to hear his position on Prop 8 and if that opinion was different/same.

Maybe Eich knew his opinion was going to make things worse. I could only see that of he didn't phrase things carefully.

Hell, "my church told me this was the stance to take" would've diluted the outrage.

As I've noted before, I'd want to ask Eich "in the middle of San Francisco, at the heart of many gay rights groups, what the hell did you possibly expect could've happened when you donated over the limit that would put your name on a publicly accessible list for an anti-homosexual marriage cause?"

I mean really, $1 less and this would've never happened.

What exactly is your point Kit?
I personally avoid supporting stores that add to the downward spiral the nation is in.

The article seems quite correct, but way too late, the avalanche of evil looks like it needs to come to an expected conclusion.
Are you ready for it?

You do realize you sound like a grizzled old wizard from a shitty fantasy movie when you talk like that, right?

That's funny Esq. I have seen zero of those movies.
But maybe you are onto something.

I think the last time I was in a theater was for the first superman flick.
I did watch the kids videos like Shrek and Despicable Me.
What grandfather doesn't?

Google and Microsoft and Apple are all outspoken in their support of gay marriage. There pretty much aren't any mainstream web browsers left with which the stupid fuckers can pollute the internet. So, rock on, homophobes. If you're going to insist on turning back the clock to the 18th century, you might as well stop using 21st century things anyway.

Yeah Ryan, I considered that at some point, there is no alternative but to use what we have.

Bullshit. Your god gave you free will, right? Maybe you could make your own web browser like you make your own version of reality. Or maybe this is a sign from God that you shouldn't be on the internet, because good Christians should avoid dens of sin and pornography.

I always wonder why some people think that no one harps on Muslims? They obviously haven't been paying attention to these boards.
