The probability of life evolving on a planet is X. X is higher than 0 because it is possible for abiogenesis to occur.
If X is higher than zero then multiple attempts increase the chance of it happening. More planets = more chances = higher chance.

The probability that life (as we know it) will evolve is 1.

And 1 is what? 100%
Yippe! You got it!

Now take all the planets with conditions that make life possible.
Many.
Now take all the years those planets existed.
Many.
Now take all the molecules on all of those planets.
Many.

In order to have life all you need is 1 self replicating molecule.

Whats the chance of life appearing somewhere at some point? Big.

Of course life exists on billions of planets in the universe. The problem is that we will never see any of it, except for some nasty bacteria and viruses we might pick up in our own solar system. What is fairly certain is that our particular life forms are are unique to Earth. Intelligent life on other planets will be very different from us because their planets will be different, with different gravities and atmosphere compositions. Plus their bacteria and viruses will have affected their physical appearances and maybe even their psyches. IOWs, they won't look like us and may not even think like us.

Unless we discover the ability to travel at or near to the speed of light (we won't find out). Or it will take longer than we continue to exist as a species to find out. Unless we discover that it's possible to refine what we see to at least observe evidence of alien life.

Which brings us back to probabilities.

Well you have no problem thinking that heaven, god and hell exist even though their probabilities are zero.

Are they?

And how do you know this?

We aren't even in the same realm here, which is amusing that you're once more showing your ignorance of both subjects.

Let's stick to the topic in hand here

Millions of little organisms went with us. Smile

...

If this is true it means that life, even if only in the form of DNA particles, has been travelling around the universe long before humans invented spacecraft and it will continue to travel even if we become extinct.

Not sure if you're intentionally missing my point or not. We are the only species to intentionally escape the bounds of our own atmosphere. Considering we've only been here a blink of an eye compared to the rest of life on this planet, I'd say that makes this act somewhat rare.

Throw in a few other cool places, like:
Asgard
Elysium
Dagobah
Ceti Alpha V
Narnia

Yes, we've developed technology so we can intentionally escape the bounds of our own atmosphere but that's not going to count for anything if we cause our own extinction.

The little bit of space exploration we've done is definitely an accomplishment. When you think of how much of our technology is designed for killing other humans, though, maybe we aren't that smart after all.
