Oh you did not just associate me with an ausie! BLASPHEMY!

It's 'Aussie' you dropkick!Big Grin

For the record: Here in Adelaide it was a cool 62 today. (too cold to eat al fresco) We prefer Chritmas to be pleasant 90F

The theme of our lunch was seafood.: oysters, prawns (shrimp) crab, scallops, cray fish (lobster) and schnapper. There was also turkey and ham, with plum pudding with brandy sauce to finish. Salad side dishes.

I arrived home around 5, feeling a bit torpid,so I had a nice lie down..

There's your first problem already. Think of all the malignant viruses, tumors, parasites and bacteria you include. Your plan is in need of some rethinking.

Big GrinI think you are speaking of the impossible. The things you have mentioned are beyond what constitutes logical problem solving in regards to the topic at hand and human potential.

The actual questions is not in terms of actually what ought to or should, could or supposed to happen, it is a hypothetical question in relation to a potential better world. Note the emphasis on hypothetical!!!Exclamation

So what is my plan then? hang on, I will tell you.Big Grin I wish to become very wealthy and powerful and take over the world. Just call me the brain and I will call you pinky. In terms of the bigger picture, I am like you I can do nothing. lol. And wish to do nothing, except become rich.

so 'mister ugly creature man' if you wish to debate to merits of common language, and it's application to hypothetical questions, be my guest.......Clap
If I understand you correctly Scotty, and I'm really doing my best here, you leave it at a hypothetical plan to make the world better which essentially means you becoming rich and sitting on your ass. In that case, count me out man, and go fuck yourself hypothetically Wink

RE: What makes a Good person?
Back to the OP.

What makes a good person?

For me it is simply a person who, no matter what their goals, will not disadvantage others to reach them, but it's not as simple as Good VS Bad, i think the ying yang is a prolific example, it's about the balance between Good and Bad deeds - If someone has done both good and bad then it ultimately must be weighed, someone who has done more good than bad (not in terms of number of actions but their impact) would still be considered by me as a Good person, though not absolutely good but relatively good and vice verse.

I think the association between Peace and War is going to help explain my idea more effectively, in the sense that Peace is simply not war (ie peace does not require charity), Good is simply Not Bad.

RE: What makes a Good person?
all the bugs and viruses that you mentioned are not bad. To think of a virus as a bad thing that needs to be destroyed or removed is to add human fallacy on top of the natural system. There is no "bad"" moral value for a bacteria, and in fact all of the parts of the earth are necessary. Some people I have listened to have talked about an end of death, or the fight against death. They make me laugh. Of course death is scary, but without death the entire system fails. For those of you so scared of death, what are you wearing? What are you eating? As I used to say.

Without the little nasties that we don't like, the system would fail. So the fact that a virus makes us sad doesn't mean there is an absolute or objective "bad"ness to it. The virus is part of the miracle of life that created us in the first place.

Thanks,
-Pip

Contextually bacteria are good, just like people, and are let down by a few nasty fuckers here and there.

isn't there 60,000 bacteria, and about 70 are harmful?

Antibiotics and silly anti-bacterial soap seems to have missed that memo.
