Mine's been described as a pitiless bottom. Or words to that effect, anyway.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Tangibly felt, unlike god which is merely a concept.

If, so why?
Be honest.

One should always want verifiable proof over religious faith. Faith is not of reality, for it relies upon imagination to fuel its concept.

I didn't say the mind couldn't be understood. I said it cannot be grasped. For it is in every place, yet it is in no place. what we see in our mind are invisible images. we cannot make them into matter, because they are thoughts and images. Yet they are real, aren't they?
so if we can agree that our thoughts and images we see and hear in our mind which CANNOT BE GRASPED, are real, and the air we CANNOT SEE, but feel, are indeed real, how then can you stop there and say GIVE ME PROOF THAT GOD EXISTS BECAUSE HE CAN'T BE SEEN AND THEREFORE IS NOT REAL.

Be honest.

We have ways of detecting and experiencing them that others can also do without being in a specific mindset, unlike god who is apparently only detectable by people who already believe in it. We can detect impulses in the brain which indicates that someone is dreaming and other stuff. You're trying to equate things to god that are actually more observable than you know.

We need something that we can use to detect him, that can be verified with everyone in the same way. This doesn't happen. Not even amongst believers. That's why there are so many denominations, some of which are contradictory.

If you actually think that this is what was being said, if this really is your takeaway from this thread, then you really, truly need some help with your reading comprehension, because not once did anyone say "I can't see it, therefore it's not real."

Honestly though, I don't think you're that stupid. I think you really do know that we weren't talking about sight exclusively, but that you're attempting to reduce our position to something absurdly strict in an attempt to delay having to answer the charge we're really laying at your door, which is that your god can't be detected at all, in any way, ever. Once I stopped being a christian, the voices in my "mind" stopped too. All the personal experiences with god that Christians talk about, are nothing more than an active imagination.

And all the good christians will be happy to spin that as "god not going where he's not wanted," absent any kind of evidence. Rolleyes

Gotta love ad hoc rationalizations, right?

RE: Christians choose delusion
I don't get the whole "god doesn't go where he's not wanted" thing. Wasn't there some story about Yahweh wanting someone to go to Nineveh, and the guy saying he didn't want to, so Yahweh had a whale swallow him and hold him for three days until he finally went? Or an older prophet that told Yahweh that there were better people out there than him to send a message to? Or how about sending military forces to other tribes because they didn't worship him, and tell his followers to kill them all?

The idea that he doesn't show signs to nonbelievers, or he doesn't bother people who don't want to worship him, makes no sense because he did those things in the bible. People will complain that the government "took prayer out of schools", despite silent prayer being an acceptable way to communicate with the lord, and blaming school shootings on that.

People will say crazy things in an effort to hold onto what they believe. It's saddest for people who do it because they've been indoctrinated in it since childhood, and are afraid of being betrayed by their very family members or closest friends.
