I don't really swear that much. I almost never swear when speaking out loud. I do swear occasionally here in writing though.
I just meant I'm not offended by the word.
Context is also important.

Swearing is effective as a way to emphasize a point. It can be rendered ineffective if used regularly, or as a prefix to every third word a person utters. We swear all the time, though many people will substitute less offensive words including (ironically enough) "god." Mind you, we have many other ways to emphasize a point during face-to-face conversation, including facial expressions, gestures, and volume. Thus, a person who is used to using four-letter words in casual conversation can still let us know how he feels, but it's not as easy to do in text.

I try not to be too boring.

Swearing has never rubbed off on me too badly. I'll cuss abit here and there, but it's nothing I'm proud of, and never understood why some people do it as much as they do. If I'm mad then I'll slip up a lot more though. Actually, I tend to not spend much time hanging out with advid swearers because they're usually annoying.

Swearing for me, is somewhat of an emotional indication. Certainly on this forum, if I do swear, it's to express disgust or contempt or the more extreme emotions. It doesn't necessarily mean I am experiencing these extreme emotions, I just think it conveys more to others about my own thoughts on something. In contrast I can use swear words when expressing how good something is. For instance "That shit is fucking hilarious". I find that this sentence says more about how funny something is than simply saying "That was very funny".
Or at least I get more out of reading the former as opposed to the latter. S'all preference in the end.
