But does Sterling give racism a 'bad name' so to speak?
A non Caucasian girl friend encouraged to "bleep" an HIV+ black man, just don't bring him to the game because he doesn't want pictures of them together at 'his' game, but there are scads of pictures with him and her together at 'his' game, and presumably he is boinking her, the parade of gifts in the wifey's lawsuit being presumptive in that regard.
WTF ? I am not getting a coherent picture here at all. Is this the 'new' neo-racism or something ?
What do 'old school' racists think of this ?

I hear what you're saying and am also bothered by the fact that his comments were intended to be private. However there is precedent. When politicians send photos of their penis on the internet for example. The fall out is tremendous even though it may not be intended for public consumption.
I think this has to be understood as financially motivated. Basketball is entertainment and everyone associated with it is subject to good or bad press. Everyone loses if one person associated with the group becomes a public pariah. Of course they'll make statements which express how awful are Sterling's remarks and views. But that is more about polishing the public image of the product than it is about morals.

What i think happened is his ex-golddigger girlfriend set him up. Got him jealous and that's when he said those things but for a supposewd racist to go out with a black girlfirend does not make sense and he did not even use the"N" word. I think he was frustrated with and said those things. He is no more racist than most. The NBA wil just use him for their purposes, A few on this forum seem to be angry becasue Sterling is super rich, that is sad.

Antebellum masters had relations with female slaves. Knowing this, would you argue that slave owners weren't racist?

I seriously doubt their relationship was built on mutual respect as equals in a loving and committed partnership. I gave the example of the master/slave relationship. Did you not understand my point?

Wow, Of course the relationship was not built on mutual respect, he is 80 He wanted someone young and she wanted things too, what is hard to understand? If she was a slave then she was a slave to his money . He also could have taken a white golddigger but he did not. That's my point.

Insulting your team and audience (significant black presence in both) is the definition of stupid.
Why are you lobbying for stupid people to be protected from their own actions?
Just a few months ago you argued against healthcare for addicts because their actions were stupid in harming their bodies and thus shouldn't be encouraged through having healthcare.
