Don't count on it. The first one is written on about a fifth grade level. I couldn't get past the heavy-handed dialect of the guy on the motorcycle. Really annoying. With dialect less is more. Give a few key words per paragraph and the reader fills in the rest in his head.

My forum of choice before joining Af.org was Chamber of Secrets (cosforums.com); I wasted many an hour discussing HP there until it closed.

It was over moderated, though, and all the interesting discussions were banned (anything to do with Snape versus the Marauders/James) because the posters would get so rabidly out of line defending their favorite character and couldn't have a reasoned, calm discussion about it. The mods were major sticklers for keeping the forum "nice and friendly", so, needless to say, there were a lot of warnings given, a lot of "friendliness" policing, and I was banned three or four times.

FYI, I was sorted into Ravenclaw on Pottermore, then promptly lost interest. My Mormon penpal (who has joined AF.org) was sorted into Slytherin, which, upon reflection (and Pottermore's descriptions of Slytherins), totally makes sense. :p

The film are shitty. The first two are cute and reasonable close to the books - I slept through both; the third was the most creative, though a lot was cut in terms of Harry's motivations and was the movie that got me to read the books; the rest of them are total shit.

I was a hat stall between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I chose Ravenclaw because I didn't want to be in a house that shared character traits with Vicent Crabbe.

You are not alone! Own all the books in hard cover and e-book and have lost count of the number of times I've read them. Own all of the movies, 5-7.2 on BluRay and have lost count of the number of times I've seen them.
