Anyone else having "adblock" Firefox problems?

Anyone else having "adblock" Firefox problems?
I have ads galore, and my filters are not blocking them on Firefox.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Anyone good with computers know how to fix this? Right clicking over the content to add it to the filter is not an available option, it seems.

The only thing that fixed the problem was uninstalling and then reinstalling Firefox.

My adblock plus is working as it always has... damn well!
Check your filter subscriptions. I only have one, EasyList. I think it's updated every day.

I use two pieces of software for browsing:

1. Hotspot Shield-- allows me to spoof my location so I can watch free station content in England and the US, and gets by Korean anti-porn laws.

2. Adblock Plus-- really effectively shuts down almost all popups and ads.

^This.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Chrome has HTTP Switchboard. It's like the Iron Curtain separating me from bad web things.

Yeah.

Use Chrome.

Use Chromium, it doesn't send your every click & search back to the Google Mothership.

Personally, I stick with Firefox because Chrome / Chromium only has about 1/2 of the extensions I use.

Ad Blocking is resource intensive. You will get lowered performance. Especially on machines that are anemic for both processing time and memory.

Here is a posting at Mozilla (the guys who make motherfucking browsers) that looks at the performance of ad blocking:
https://blog.mozilla.org/nnethercote/201...ory-usage/

Plain and simple – nothing is for free. When you are blocking domains off of an HTML page that is being parsed as data comes in, you will have to check each sub- element against a very large table. This means that for increasing complexity pages, you'll be spending an increasing amount of time to check, parse, reparse, and manipulate the DOM while also traversing a large table in memory.

My Ad-Block is working fine.

Maybe try reinstalling?

I did have to reinstall it.

Also, I am not a fan of Chrome because it crashes on me too much.
